Rehabilitate Air Carrier and General Aviation Apron – Phase 2 at Augusta Regional Airport (AGS)

Augusta, GA

Aulick Engineering provided full-time Resident Project Representative (RPR) services for this rehabilitation project at Augusta Regional Airport. This project involved replacing the existing asphalt apron with P501 concrete and included several phases with different design sections. A critical component of the design was a P-304 Cement-Treated Base Course.

The project included storm drain, P154, P152, underdrain, markings, signage, and electrical, and involved full-depth replacement for five (5) phases spread out across the ramp. The project finished several weeks ahead of schedule and $300,000+ under budget. As a result of these savings, the FAA awarded the airport with a change order to add Connector Taxiway A3. Connector A3 was completed between January and April and finished on schedule and within budget. Through careful coordination with FAA tech ops and airport electricians, no utility strikes happened during this project.
