This project consisted of clearing and grubbing, mass grading, and drainage for a new 4,200’ long runway at the airport. The project includes 140 acres of clearing, 240,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 4,300 linear feet of drainage pipe and three large stormwater ponds. Aulick Engineering’s role in the project consisted of stormwater and erosion control design, including DHEC Permitting Services. Three large stormwater ponds were design for temporary sediment control during control and post-construction water quality and detention. Future development and master planning was required to size the ponds accurately and efficiently. The project was broken up into four phases so extensive planning and coordination was required for an effective design.
